Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
Injured on landlords property, two days later was asked to leave.
Upon living in my home for 8 years, I repeatedly asked my landlord to fix the front steps. For the past year and a half the concrete steps were broken and sinking in, this problem was ignored, although seen by the landlord every month. I fell and injured myself due to the broken steps, two days later I was told I needed to look for a new apartment, I later found out that my landlord lied to the homeowners insurance company by saying that she dwelled at this residence, therefore the insurance company refuses to pay any hospital bills. She has never given me any written notice to leave the premisis, yet wants me out within a month, claiming she sold the house. Right now I am out of work because of my injury and I have a roomate plus 3 young children to worry about, what do I do?

You can sue the landlord for your injuries. You have a very strong case, since you gave the landlord notice. The only negative part, is that you also had notice of the problem.
