Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Invasion of Privacy

My landlord has evicted the tenants downstairs from me. He wants to show prospective tenants my apartment instead due to the poor condition of the other one. He has already entered my home and showed it without my knowledge or permission. He has also taken pictures and posted them in his rental advertisment. I do not want to allow him to show my apartment when it is not up for rent. I need to know if I can deny him access.

Re: Invasion of Privacy

Depends upon the terms of your lease agreement.

You should read it to determine Landlord's permitted access.

Generally, advance notice and reaonable hours apply.
