Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

If I have a judgement against me now and I try to buy a property will the judgement need to be paid BEFORE I can buy? Or will it just attach to the property after I buy?

If you are attempting to purchase the property through payment by a lending institution, the bank would want the judgment paid before the purchase of the property. However, if you are not using a bank, the judgment will attached to the property after the purchase.
