Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
Do I need a lawyer to refinance my mortgage?
I am in the process of refinancing my mortgage for a lower interest rate with the bank that I currently have my mortgage with. Do I need to retain my own attorney?

Not unless you feel uncomfortable dealing with the financial and title issues that may arise. Keep in mind that although you pay a fee to the lender's attorney---he or she does not represent you.
