Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

I have been the legal owner of a property in Oregon for over 20 years that my father has managed until approx 6 years ago. He has been increasingly forgetful and his health is declining, so I decided to put the property on the market. I reside in NY and cannot manage this property properly from this distance. I received an offer almost immediately and it is now under contract. My problem is that two individuals who had tried, in the past, to get my father to rent the property to them for 100.00 per month have reemerged and now seem to be trying to get the property transferred out of my name and back into my fathers name. Do they have any right to do this? And can this stop the sale of the property? Your input will be so greatly appreciated! Thank you

Doubtful. May depend on what your father may have done as your agent. You may need to speak with local counsel in Oregon.

I agree with David that maybe more facts are necessary to provide a full response to your question. Further, you have not specified what these people have done or are trying to do? Has any litigation been initiated, or is this just verbal communications? Did your father make any promises and, if so, were they is writing? To question your ownership rights after 20 years seems unassailable.
