is it legally possible to be real estate agent, home inspector, and notary at the same time in new york, if you keep them separate and only work on other people's transactions?

Sure. If you do multiple jobs for the same property you could get in hot water, so don't do that. Don't be the home inspector for a property on which you're also one of the agents, for example.
