Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

How Is A Lien Obtained?

I was unaware that I was being charged for legal fees and alleged assessments; therefore without notice, I received a letter from an attorney stating that a lien had been placed on my property regarding the above. Although I responded according to the letter within 30 days for a ''verified'' response, I have yet to hear from the attorney. An attorney requested the same information at which the attorney sent a statement which is totally fabricated. They are now threatening foreclosure. How do I demand that they produce an explanation of these charges??? Thanks for any help.....

Re: How Is A Lien Obtained?

Do you recall signing a documentations allowing the attorney to do any work on your behal? Or did you fail to make mortgage payments? There are many important facts that are needed to give a realistic answer to your question.

Please note, just because a foreclosure procedure is begining, withut proff that the monies are owed by you than they will not be successful. It sound like you need to hire a lawyer to defend you.

If you are interested in representation I will be very happy to discuss it with you, I can be reached at 201-646-9600.
