Lifetime Residency

My Mother-in law sold her home with a clause of lifetime residency. if she has someone staying with her, can the owner have that person removed form the home?

Probably not. What you describe sounds like a life estate. If that is what she has, she is the owner during her lifetime. The part she sold is a remainder interest.
