Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
I live in Rockland County, NY, and recently went into contract for the purchase of a home. The listing broker had the taxes on the listing at about 9400 and when my attorney got the title report it showed taxes of almost $11,000. I would not have offered as much for the house had I known the real taxes. My contract is subject to the MLS Listing which states the 9400 amount. Do I have any recourse against the broker, or can I get out of the deal.

I have not seen a contract "subject to the MLS listing" but......if your does then yes, you should be able to get out of it.
In general, it is your responsibility BEFORE you sign a contract to do your due dilligence which means confirm the taxes. If you don't you are stuck with it.
