Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
I have lived in my apartment since May of 1976. It is a family-owned 4-family house. There is no lease, but I pay $350 per month. If my cousin (the owner) sells, would I be able to stay as a rent-controlled tenant?

If there is no lease you are a month to month tenant. The new owners have the option of increasing rent or evicting you after service of a 30 day notice.
