Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

I had made a deposit of $800 to a real estate company. They were suppose to find me an apartment but they showed me one and I said I didn't want to take it so they were going to look for another, but i had to move urgently. I found an apartment of my own and now they do not want to return my deposit. Is there anything I can do to get my money back?

I would need to review the language in the contract. However, for $800 you may want to commence a small claims action against the real estate company to return your money.
