Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Mom recently passed.I am trying to keep her apt. She had a section 8 voucher and an apt that was not fixed up. Mgmt is willing to fix up the apt and then charge a rent of 1750. Her lease was for 1470 in which she paid 656. Can they legally get more than 1470 from me.
