Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
If my mother grants me a power of attorney over her property to sell and close while she is away, at the end of the year, do I report the sale gains and pay the taxes, or does she? Thank you.

With power of attorney you are acting on her behalf. Therefore, ultimately your mother has the responsibility to pay any taxes from the transaction.
