Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
Hi and Thank you. I have a neighbor that has just added on to his home. The problem with that is the existing survey showed that the corner of the house was on are line. I come back from a long trip and the addition is basically done. I ask the contractor how did you receive a permit and said from the owners. So to cut this a little short their addition now is I would say is at least ten feet on my property. I can solve this problem? Any suggestions? Because if one goes to sell the survey is wrong now.

I would first file a complaint with the town or village. You neighbor may have to either remove or redesign the addition or he would have to apply for a variance.
