Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Oral Contract

We sold our house to people we know back in May 2004 and we had an oral agreement that they would pay us $20,000 in cash so they could get a lower mortage. There is nothing in writing about this money but we had a verbal agreement. They have paid $13,000 of the money so far.now they are refusing to pay the rest.Do I have any legal recourse with the oral contract???

Re: Oral Contract

there is an old saying that 'oral contracts arent usually worth the paper they are written on'

you may have a claim against your lawyer for not protecting you.

Not unless you have something in writing from the party you want to give you the balance.
