papers needed for closing

For a NY RE closing, what forms are needed? What forms are needed for the payoff of existing mtge and home equity? should someone from the mtge co be notified and present at closing? if you buy a house and need a mtge, does a person from the mtge co have to be at the closing? How are settlement monies figured out on the settlement statement? Do the attys discuss this with each other and the buyer and seller? Thanks!
