Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
Personal Property in reference to a storage facility.
My parents hired a moving facility and then had there items stored in there storage. Well Ny had a noreaster/severe storm. We were never notified of the problem. We had made an appointment to look at our items, since they had changed owners 2x since we had our stuff there, and also they could not find all our items. Anyway when we went for the appointment we had no idea, that our items had been soaking in water for over a month. MY mothers precious antiquities for 4 generations are completely destroyed. ON top of all that we have alot that is missing. I am seeking legal advice and also to sue this outlit for not notifing us, and of all the damage and mental anquish it has caused on the family!

It is not likely that you can sue of the anquish, but you probably can sue to recover the value of the items lost.
