Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
My phone was confiscated for violating rules of my boarding school. The problem is it wasn't me using the phone at the moment, it was a friend. I then went to see the teacher who confiscated my phone from my friend, as I wanted to exchange my phone with my friend's phone. But she refused, sayingthat my phone is the rightful confiscated item. My question, do I have the right for my phone back?

Unfortunately private schools have the right to set codes of conduct and rules, within reason, and the phone rules, from the limited amount of information you have provided, do not seem unreasonable. You let the phone out of your control and let your friend use it, so in the end, you have some degree of responsibility for his using the phone against the school policy, and the confiscation of the phone does not seem to have been unreasonable. Sorry I cannot give you a more favorable opinion.
