Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

power line right of way

Does National Grid own the property that the power line is on or just have a right of way on my property? My brother in law told a person that he could split and store wood on a section of our property, but I am concerned about liability. ( the wood is brought in from elsewhere so that's not an issue) He thinks that National Grid owns that section because it is near the main road and power line. I own half the property, should I be concerned about liability and does National

Grid own the property or just have the right of way?

Re: power line right of way

Who knows? read your deed and check what it says...then go to the county clerk and look up the property for the Grid documents..it will tell you definitively.

Good Luck
