A landlord may require basically anything

for the privilege of renting from him,

including liability coverage.

Even though he owns the property, and has

responsibility, your actions at the property

could cause someone to slip and fall, and

trigger lawsuits against everyone. This is

the true reason the landlord wants additional

coverage.

Your current renter's liability policy does

cover your personal belongings. But it may

also cover liability. If it does not presently,

your agent can add this coverage. so, call

your insurance agent.
