Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

property inheritance

My father died intestate and his three children have inherited land in upstate NY? We shared in the administration of his estate, so what is the next step in transferring the property to our names in order to sell??

Re: property inheritance

Either you may have the administrator sign a deed to each of the children to transfer the property before the sale, or (better), the estate may sell the property and issue a deed to the new owner. Money from the sale goes into an estate account. From the account the money is given to the children.
