Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
Can a property manager charge you for an unpaid legal fees when you never went to court? We paid our rent late for the month of Nov. The full amount & late fees & the property manager cashed the money order that was marked rent & took $500 out for legal fees then say we have a balance $474 for rent.

You need to read your lease agreement. If it says that you must pay reasonable legal fees to collect late payments you may just be liable.
