Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
Hello, i am purchasing raw land for 17k . i was advised to take tilte insurance which
i did and that was a very good idea. when the title came back this week there is a 32k lein on the property from a divorce that the seller was not aware of.the seller says she will pay it off if i give her some time but my qustion is what is a legal time frame in the state of new york before i can either back out or sue without any recourse to me.

Like most areas of the law "It depends." The contact should have a set statement as to what happens if you don't get back clean title and when/if you can pull out of the contract.
