Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
real estate sublet
I sublet my office to a subtenant and we both signed a sublease agreement. However, the check provided by the subletter for the first month and deposit bounced. A replacement check provided by the subletter also bounced.
The subletter also purchased equipment from me with a check, which also bounced.
My Questions:
(1) Right now, who owns the property that was purchased with the bounced check?
(2) Am I able to have the locks changed on the office? So far, I have not received any actual money from the subletter, so I'm not sure that he has any claims under our sublease.
Thanks for any help!
