Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
I rented a vacation week from a realtor in ocean city me. The transaction took place over the phone. I paid in full with an e check and received a confirmation number and was told I would be getting the rental agreement in the mail. When it arrived it had the name of another unit on the agreement. I was furious. I called the agent and they said there was a mix up and that it was rented to someone else now and that "things happen" . I want that unit and it should be rightfully mine. I told them to tell the other party that they couldn't have it and they said they couldn't do that! What are my rights here? I don't want my money back I want that place

Well, you could sue for specific enforcement and /or money damages but that would take too long and what are your damages anyway? Or , you could take a deep breath, swallow your hurt pride and get on with your life.
