required services for multi-unit apartment buildings
What are the required services for a multi-unit apartment build?
More specifically, Is snow removal a required service?
The building I own currently has 6 units. Snowplowing is not included in the lease.

NYS Multiple Residence Law states the following:
� 174. Repairs and cleanliness
The owner shall keep all and every part of a dwelling and the lot on which it is situated in good repair, clean and free from vermin, rodents, dirt, filth, garbage or other thing or matter dangerous to life or health; but the tenant shall also be liable if a violation is caused by his own wilful act, assistance or negligence or that of any member of his family or household or his guests.
There is some law that states snow and ice is not included under this law (Doyle v Streifer (1970) 34 AD2d 183, 310 NYS2d 165). However, a lease will not help you if an individual that is not a tenant injures him or herself.
