Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Responsibility of lease by tenant who terminates lease early

I rented a house for 7 months. After 4 months of the lease, I found a house to buy but had to move immediately in order to get the house. I gave the landlord over 1 month of notice and realize I will forfeit the security deposit. Am I obligated to pay the remaining 3 months of the lease?

Re: Responsibility of lease by tenant who terminates lease early

The tenant is responsible for the entire lease term, minus any rent that the landlord collects from a new tenant during the remaining lease period.
