room rental
i own a three family house. is it legal to rent rooms in new york? I am considering renting one apartment as rooms. what can i do to my house or one apartment to make rental as rooms legal.

You can not rent separate rooms in one apartment to separate families in a house zoned as 3 FAM. You would need to change from 3 fam to boarding house. Whether you could do this would depend on zoning or whether you could get a variance.
