Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
The seller's ex wife is putting a stop to a closing because she feels the house is being sold for $150k less than value. We got the home appraised and it was valued exactly at the purchase price. The house is not even on her name, however its part of their divorce settlement. Can I sue her for prolonging my closing date for no reason?

You would not be able to commence an action against her. However, you may be able to commence an action against the seller (the husband) to either 1. force the sale or 2. for damages from breach of contract.
