Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

shared driveway issue

My parents own their home (for 17 years) and we share the driveway with the neighbors on the left who rent (for 2 years). Before that the home was abandoned.

Parking is difficult in the neighborhood.

My question is do we (my parents) have more of a right over the driveway than our neighbors who rent?

No. They do not lose any rights to shared driveway just because they choose to rent and not live there.

The renters have same legal rights as owner does to use of shared driveway.
