Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

I sold my house in Ny. It was my mother's estate. I hired my lawyer to do the closing so hired him to be the poa. The closing happened oct 14th 2010. All net proceeds are held in escrow. My net is 205,000.00

On nov 10th 2010 he deposied 177,000.00 into the estate account. Whitch means he left 30,000.00 still in escrow. I would like to know how long can he keep the remaining net funds into the escrow account.
