Make sure you get a satisfaction of mortgage from the lender and record it with the county clerk of your county.

I agree with Martin. Be sure the discharge or satisfaction is recorded to show title is clear I suggest also verifying that the major credit bureaus note this in their reports, as this could effect the credit score..
