Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
Can I sue my realtor?
my realtor listed my vacant lot as ''single and seperate'' in the real estate ad. i signed a contract with a buyer. the contract didn't list the vacant lot as ''single and seperate.'' when the buyer tried to obtain a building permit, he was denied because the lot wasn't ''single and seperate.'' the lot was only subdivided. the buyer wants me to pay for all of his costs (6,000) because he wouldn't have entered the contract if the ad was correct. can i sue my realtor? he placed the ad on the web, not me. also, i didn't even know what ''single and seperate'' meant in the real estate laws of brookhaven (until now). i feel that my realtor should have advised me on this instead of placing an ad with misinformation on it. by the way, the contractor (or buyer) has placed a lien on my home.

I wouldnt necessarily sue your realtor until you are actually sued by the buyer. We have substantial experience handling these types of cases, however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination. You are welcome to contact us for a free consultation.
