Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

tenants rights

My lease expires 6/30/08 and my landlord will not renew it because we have been late in the past. We cannot move into our new home until 8/1/08. I have 3 small kids, is there anything I can do to stall until 8/1/08?

Pay the rent (it may be turned down) but stay. By the time the holdover proceedings or whgatever else is done, you should be much closer to the end of July.
