Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
Timeshare Foreclosure-maintenance fees
A timeshare vacation property I purchased a few years ago as a naive 23 year-old is now being foreclosed, I do not wish to keep it. I do wish to proceed with the foreclosure as it's my only option to get rid of it. The property was purchased in FL, my former state of residence, where the foreclosure is being filed and pursued.
Can anyone give me any legal advice regarding this?
Also, I've been getting letters from the Resort Financial Services of the group threatening legal action if I do not pay my maintenance fees which have
accrued over the past few years, totaling $2,211.59. Am I legally obliged to pay these fees or can I avoid paying them?
Thanks much!

Re: Timeshare Foreclosure-maintenance fees
If you have not signed any documents undertaking personal liability for the obligations, then just let the foreclosure proceed. Essentially all you are doing is walking away from the property.
