tree blown down
if a tree is on a neighbors property and the tree is blown down and lands on another property owners property who is responsible for paying for the clean up

Believe it or not, the innocent property owner where the tree landed.
Usually, the neighbors split it but the "owner" of the tree has no legal responsibility to pay anything. Definately unfair rule but that's what it is.

.....If you can prove that the tree was decayed (rotted, diseased) AND the owner knew it, then the "owner" of the tree is responsible for costs of removal.
