Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
Tree Stumps
I`m having a new house built. I found out that the contractor buried tree stumps in my back yard.
A non hazerdous waste according to the EPA..Who is responsable when the stumps decompose and a sink hole developes that could cause harm to any child.

I don't know if a sinkhole would ever come about when tree stumps decompose. They usually do so slowly and are filled in with dirt and other debris.
If you are that concened I would tell the contractor immediately of your concern, and advise him that he is inviting a lawsuit, and the withholding of monies until the tree stumps are properly disposed of.
