Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
utility easement on my property
I own property in Hyde Park, NY. There is a 2 acre town owned landlocked lot behind my house. The town has a utility easement for an abandoned water supply station. The town now wants to sell the land so a house can be built on it. The new homeowner would only have access to the property thru the 20 foot wide easement on my (any my next door neighbors property). Can the town legally allow the purchaser of the 2 acre lot to use my property to access the lot? Can they build a driveway without my consent?

Re: utility easement on my property
Depends on how the easement grant reads. Read the documents containing the easement
