Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
My wife and I are buying a condo for our son, in Harlem. We had planned to buy it in our names, but one of the attractive properties stipulates "must be owner-occupied." Could we make our son a "third owner" on the deed, and privately execute, with him, an agreement stipulating that he owns .01% and my wife and I own the remainder?
