Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
My ex wife and I owned a house together, we divorced last year. I recently refinanced to remove her name from the title and mortgage. There is balance in the escrow account that I will be getting back. she had signed off all rights to the house prior to this so that she would not be responsible for any payments or repairs to the house. Is she entitled to half of the money left in the escrow account?

Presumably no as she signed off on the house as part of your settlement. However, possibly more facts need to be known. Is there anything on this in your Property Settlement Agreement? What does the language about the house say in your settlement agreement? The language may cover this issue.
