Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
new york - we have no lease - landlord sent rent increase letter - we sent counter proposal which includes "Should we not hear back from you, we will presume you have agreed to and accept our counter rent proposal and will act accordingly" - question - if the landlord fails to respond to our counter proposal, can we legally pay what WE proposed in OUR letter and is the landlord then legally obligated to accept same? thanks!

No. Real property leases etc must be in writing to be valid. Your one sided letter is not an agreement. Sorry
