Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

zoning

I was recently refused a use variance to install a 28x40 manufactured home in a SFR zoned area which allows only modular and stick built homes. I have since heard that ther was a law passed stating that modular and doublewide homes where classed as the same, is this true? If so how do I obtain a copy of this law. If not do I have any alternatives to get this variance approved.

Thank you for your assistance

Re: zoning

Zoning regulations are usually local laws and not state laws. To answer your question I would have to know where the house was located.

In any event, check the local zoning ordinances that would be located in the town hall.

Mike.
