Legal Question in Securities Law in New York
can my neighbor take my property
I have a row of trees separating my yard with the lady next door's yard. She keeps cutting the tops of my trees and I asked her not to do that anymore. I want the trees to grow because I want privacy, but she won't stop. Now she is threatening to claim the trees and the part of my yard as hers. She says that she has been cutting them for a long time. I did tell her it was okay to cut them when she asked me if it was okay a long time ago, but now I want her to stop. Can she claim my trees and part of my yard?? Can I sue her for trespassing? Do I need a lawyer to tell her my rights or can I send her a letter myself? I can't afford a lawyer but she has one already. What is the best way for me to handle this without going broke?
