Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in New York

My boss touched my rear end. Not completely sure if it was intentional or accidental, I discussed it with a co-worker that I am friends with. Her husband is a lawyer and he said she is legally bound to report it to our boss. She did and I was fired because he said he didn't want me to destroy his reputation and he was now afraid to be in a room with me. Was my co-worker really legally bound to report it to him? Do I have a legitmate sexual harassment grievance?

It appears that you received bad second legal advice. No, your co-worker was under no "legal obligation" to report what you disclosed. You do have a claim of unlawful termination under the laws against workplace sexual harassment under the circumstances outlined in your question. Contact me or an other employment law attorney for further information.
