Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in New York
Harassment,difficult boss,age discrimination
I've been at my current job for 15 1/2yrs.I was on tv for 12yrs,then taken off when they hired younger people for the same position. Back in Jan. I was back on air. I was told I was doing a great job, promised full time position and a pay upgrade. I was burning both ends of the candle.Working 12 nights in a row. Missing my kids functions, going on promos. They held interviews for my position ,but i was promised that I would stay on and not to worry about it. went above and beyond for this employer. They hired 3 young women and took me off, with no reason. I was promised the world and I worked my butt off lead to believe that there was that light at the end of the tunnel(full time pos./pay raise)for it to be all taken away. I just turned 40 in May and I filed age discrimination and harassment with the Inspector General and the Human Rights Comm of NYS. My union is no help, that's why I went outside to try to get some justice. I have a long list of witnesses who can support my accusations of harrasment and discrimination.
what do you think are my chances?

Re: Harassment,difficult boss,age discrimination
I would like to sit down with you and discuss your claim in detail in order to best assess your chances. The cases I have handled involving claims of age discrimination are very fact intensive and they often decide whether you are successful or not. The facts as you describe them do raise a claim for age discrimination. However, I would like to delve further to assess further evidence and possible defenses which your employer may raise.
Feel free to call me if you'd like to discuss this further. I will be in my office all day tomorrow and my number is 212.832.5981.
