How long does a case typically take

I file against against my previous employer for retaliation. How long does the process take before it is brought to the court's attention.

It depends where you file. If you filed with the division of human rights or the EEOC it does not automatically go to court. A number of things have to happen first. The investigation must be concluded in your favor by the agency you filed with.
