Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in New York

Is this Sex Harassment and what can be done

I am a male manager with a major corporation with 18 years service. Another male manager has sent me emails (via Lotus Notes) making sexual comments about my wife. I have written back, an told him via phone, to knock it off because I do not appreciate it. He responded, in writing, with another sexual comment. I have copies of this email.

Originally I was not going to do anything because he is very good friends with my female boss and I was fearful of retaliation if I did anything. Now, I have just learned that I am out of a job due to downsizing (which is another case because this is also retaliation). What legal recourse do I have and what type of monetary settlement could I expect? What is the minimum that has been awarded in a sex harassment suit? This is time sensitive and I would appreciate an attorney recommendation if you have one.

Comments to one about another is generally not considered sexual harassment. That fact that the comments are about your wife, is certainly in bad taste, objectionable, and unwelcome, does not make them sexual harassment.
