Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in New York

Sexual harrassment

I Was the victim of sexual harrassment by a civilian worker of the NYC Police dept. I filed an EEOC Complaint with the dept 2/99, which was ruled in my favor, After I filed my complaint I became the victim of retaliation by my Supervisor of my work place. Before this incident i have experienced no harm or harassment from any Supervisor. I have suffered from stress, anxiety and i sometimes have a hard time sleeping all in direct response to the pressure I am experiencing in my work place. I have also suffered sexually from this incident, due to a particular incident in question. I wish to sue my employer The New York City Police Dept. for discrimnation. This type of gender discrimination was forced upon me by the dept from the time I filed my complaint until now. She was finally transferred out of the Unit on 12/99. Almost an entire year since the filing I have been dealing with this situation. In your opinion do you think i have a case against the Dept for discrimination.

Re: Sexual harrassment

You indicated that you filed a Charge of Discrimination with the EEOC 2/99 alleging sexual harassment. Depending on where that charge is in the system, you may want to amend it to include retaliation or simply file a second charge alleging retaliation. Talk to a local attorney or your EEOC Investigator.
