Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in New York

is this sexual harrassment?

I am writing in regards to sexual harrassment. I am not sure what qualifies as sexual harrassment or what my rights are. To put it bluntly my boss pursued a sexual relationship with me and in the beginning I was agreeable. About 5 months into the relationship I realized that I was being used and I no longer wanted to participate in that kind of relationship. My boss kept pursuing a relationship yet kept calling it freindship!? I just wanted out of the situation yet wanted to keep my employment, so I forwarded his patronizing emails to his wife. Within 5 days of this action I found myself transferred from my work site and in the disciplinary process. I explained to my boss's supervisor that I just wanted out of the situation but was not aware of a greivance procedure or workplace law concerning this. In the mean time about 5 months ago I had starting asking about leave through FMLA due to mental health issues related to this but was appeased by a deal to go part time. In the end I find that I have been transferred from a job I care very much about, to another job they call ''comprable''. I feel shamed by being put in a disciplinary process, and I have no idea what my rights are as an employee. Please help, Stephanie

Re: is this sexual harrassment?

Based on your description this is what is called "quid pro quo" sexual harassment; sex for favors, or sex or else.

Your best remedy at the moment would be to contact the NYS Division of Human Rights and file a complaint.
