If I was married for only 2 yrs would I quialify for my ex death benefits?

usually no. However, the social security law changes everyday. Call up your social security office and ask a respresentative there your question. They are very cooperative. You can verify her answer by just calling another social security office. It is free.
If you are still uncertain, apply for the ex's death benefits. all they can do is turn you down.
But my feeling is that you are not entitled to the benefits only being married a few years.
